Campus Clean-Up and Community Meeting/Orientation

Dear Village Parents,

Hope you are all enjoying your summer!  Only a few weeks left until your children will be returning to a new school-year filled with numerous experiences awaiting them. We are hoping you are all around on Friday, August 12th, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm, to clean up the campus, followed by a brief community meeting at 5:30.

  • Tasks needing attention are weeding, cleaning, and general tidying of the area/classrooms. Please bring tools; brooms, wheel barrows, garden tools, etc.,  and cleaning supplies; all purpose cleaners, wipes, sponges, vacuum, etc.

  • The Parent Association (PA) and Foundation will have sign ups available for volunteering throughout the year.

  • The new VCS t-shirts will available to purchase or order.

  • We will not be having a pot luck this year and childcare will not be provided so you will need to be responsible for the supervision of your child/children including snacks and drinks.

If you can't make it between 2:00 and 5:00 Rebecca will be here earlier in the day for anyone wanting to help out.

Don't forget to bring your child's registration packet!

Successful Creek Clean-a-Thon

Creek Clean-a-Thon 2016

Saturday's Creek Clean-a-thon was a fantastic success!  Over 90 members of our Village family converged on Peterson Creek.  We laughed. We played.  We shared ice cream :-).  We picked up TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY-FIVE POUNDS of trash!

The pledges have already begun to roll in; thank you!  Cleaning up the creek is an amazing thing our students and their families do for our Santa Rosa community.  Now we just have to follow-through with collecting the pledges to support our fabulous school.  Remember, you have until Friday, May 13th to collect all of your pledges, so there's still plenty of time to follow-up with family and friends.

See Ashley at the Foundation table this Wednesday at pick-up, if you have questions or to turn in pledges.  We're excited to make this year our biggest success yet!

3rd Annual Creek Clean-a-Thon Fundraiser

Creek Clean-a-Thon

"When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world."

-John Muir

Dear Village Families,

On Saturday, April 16, The Village Charter School will be hosting its 3rd Annual Creek Clean-a-Thon Fundraiser. This year, we're excited to have the opportunity to clean up trash pollution from a large section of Peterson Creek that runs very near to our school!

Trash debris in and around our creeks is a big problem that has a damaging effect on creek habitat and water quality. Litter flows from people's lives into storm drains that then flow directly into our creeks, rivers and ocean. People, plants and animals need clean creeks and unpolluted water to be healthy. Our Village community will have fun together while making a big difference by cleaning up Santa Rosa Creek.
