Parent Orientation

Thank you to all who came out to this year’s Parent Orientation, it is you who really make this event a success.  It really says volumes about our school community when so many of the returning families come out and to an event geared towards our newest Parents.

If you were unable to attend the Orientation and/or still have questions, you are in luck….Teachers have Classroom Parent Meetings throughout the year. Watch the bulletin, communications from your teacher, or Room Parent to find out when the meetings for your class will occur.

Miss Kristen’s first Parent Meeting will be on Thursday August 31st from 5pm-6pm.

First Day of School & PA Coffee Morning

The PA will be hosting a Coffee Morning, on the first day of school. We hope that any family, new or returning, can join us after morning circle for a warm cup of joe (or tea) and some bagels. We know that the first day can be hard for some, and a much-needed break for others.  Join together as a community and share which ever phase you are in! Say hi to old friends and lets meet some new ones too! If you would like to help reduce trash bring your own mug we will have some available as well as disposable ones for those who can’t stay.

Enrichment

This fall VCS is proud to currently be offering Choir and Girls on the Run opportunities for enrichment.  If there is anything you as a parent would/could contribute either this fall or in the spring we would love to hear about it, contact Lauren, at lcyxprs@aol.com and let her know.

Choir begins Thursday 9/7 @ 3:10. 1800's songs and costumes. $5 per sessions x 14 weeks =$70 (payable to Miss Barnum). Sign up outside of the office.

Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a fun after-school program for 3rd to 5th grade girls. Heart & Sole is Girls on the Run’s new program for middle school girls! Heart & Sole creates a positive, structured space for middle school girls to learn about themselves, explore new ideas, cultivate empathy, strengthen connections and develop life skills that will help them as they move through adolescence and beyond.

No running experience is necessary!  For more information about the program, contact Coach CRISARLIN VAZQUEZ at crisarlin@gmail.com or visit www.gotrsonomacounty.org.  Application deadline is September 8, 2017. Scholarships are available upon request. Visit the website for GOTR registration at https://www.gotrsonomacounty.org/Our-Programs and apply.
