IMPORTANT TIME CHANGE—Effective Monday 8/30

After much discussion and evaluation of the traffic, we have decided on the following time adjustment to the school day.

This change allows for better traffic flow and less congestion. Please make an effort to arrive no earlier than 3:15/1:15. Students will be escorted out and available for pick-up between 3:15 and 3:30 (1:15-1:30).

Kinder parents—there is no change to your drop-off/pick-up procedures

Masking Update

·         SCDPH is now strongly recommending that masks be worn in most outdoor situations where social distancing is not in place. Our teachers will continue to provide as much mask free time as feels safe for everyone and students can request mask breaks at any time.

·         PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD ARRIVES WITH A WELL-FITTING MASK. This means the nose is covered and the mask fits without gaps or sagging. We have extra masks—paper and cloth—if needed.

Monday Morning Circle

(Sorry, parents can’t attend at this time. Soon, I hope!)

VCS is reinstating its tradition of Monday Morning Circles.

Each class will host the circle for the month, leading the school community with a poem or song.

This month the MS will be teaching the school The Earth Pledge by Rachel Carson.

Village Voices

The Village Voices is back! This is a monthly newsletter that showcases our school and the students. If you have ideas for the VV or want to help with this monthly publication, please attend the PA meeting on 9/2 or contact Laurent Kushins. This month’s Village Voices is coming in a separate email.
