Our 10th annual Creek Clean-a-thon is soon upon us! Keep Saturday 4/20 9-11:30am open for a time to tend to our earth. This is a wonderful day of cleaning up our local watershed and beautifying our community. Keep an eye out for more information on this special event. We can use some help organizing and on the day of this event. If you can help, please sign up below.

Community Outreach

Hello Village community!

On April 7th, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, Oliver’s Market on Stony Point Road has offered us space to set up a table to tell folks about all our hard work cleaning up the creek over the years and this year on April 20th!

The plan is to set up a small table and have families meet and help for an hour talking with people about our efforts. If we get a few families, we can each take a block and next thing you know, the day will be past.

Reach out to Bryan Much, via phone/text at 707-332-1117 if you have any questions.

April is a month of Challenges, Service, and Spirit!

Our students have planned a month of challenges, service and spirit for the VCS community and anyone else you might know who would like to participate. Details are listed at the end of this bulletin and will also be posted on the website. We encourage you to make your best effort to meet our weekly challenges and give us your feedback on how it goes!

COIN COLLECTION IS HAPPENING EVERYDAY!

Meatless Monday–Give up eating meat (or something else that is a high contributor of greenhouse gas emissions–rice, soy, dairy, etc.) Bring to consciousness how our choices impact the earth.

Tech Free Tuesday and Thursday–If it is not required for work or school, try to stay off all screens. Need to communicate? Call instead (not facetime). TV is your evening ritual? Take a family walk, read, play a game. We know this might be a hard one but challenge yourself and see what happens!

Water Wednesday–Drink only water on this day. Ditch the coffee, juice, milk, soda, etc. and hydrate with water only. How does it feel?

Friendship Friday–Make a new connection, sit with someone new at lunch, write a letter to a grandparent…be creative and share your smile and kindness with others.

CREEK CLEAN-A-THON: SATURDAY, APRIL 20th 9:00-11:00 at The Youth Community Park across from Piner HS. This is a day our community gathers to take care of our local creek (and it is a ton of FUN). Boots and work clothes are strongly recommended! Everything else is provided.

Summer Camp 2024 is happening!

Thank you for getting your forms in!

NEEDED for Miss Malika

Empty and clean 16 oz size sour cream or cottage cheese containers. (We need lots!) Please bring to Malika’s classroom

Volunteers Wanted

The middle school is working on a sewing project where they are secretly making stuffed animals for their buddies. Shhh, don’t tell Miss Malika’s students! It would be helpful to have a couple more adults in the room to help with planning patterns, attaching limbs, etc. Please tell Emma erobbins@villagecharterschool.com if you can come help and what your preferred dates/times are. Thank you!
